Warm Morning propose an extremely soft and folksy sound, inspired by the “New Acoustic Movement” represented by bands like “I Am Kloot”, “Kings of convenience” and “Badly Drawn Boy”, or by the sound of “new folk” from bands like “Vetiver”, but also inspired by the artists of the past, like Nick Drake, Opal, Burt Bacharach and Beau Brummels.
“Feather” is a ten track album, and some of them especially struck me: “Behind the curtain” with its soft and light sound; “Silver rain” (one of my favorites) crossed by a splendid country-roots atmosphere; “Disconnected” with its mod-indie-rock; the folksy groove of “Party’s over”; the west coast vibrations of “The room is shaking” and “The jackstraw and the crow”.
On the whole “Feather” is really an interesting proof. The continuous pursuit of a new and stimulating “Warm Morning sound” never stops.
